Additional Driver
All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. Additional drivers can be added at any rental location and at any time during the rental. An additional driver fee of EUR 7.50 (excl. VAT and local taxes) per day up to a maximum of EUR 75.00 (excl. VAT and local taxes) applies.
After Hours Service
Out of hours pick-up is available only at airport station. However this service is not bookable on the Internet. Please contact the location as your credit card details and flight number is required. An additional fee in the amount of EUR 30.00 (excluding VAT plus Airport fee where applicable) will apply.
If you fail to collect the car at the requested time, a no show fee in the amount of EUR 30.00 (excluding VAT plus Airport fee where applicable) will apply. Out of hours return is available on request. Please contact the location as specific conditions and fees may apply.
Age Requirements
The minimum age requirement for all vehicles is 25. Renters between the age of 21 and 24 may rent the categories Mini, Economy, Compact and Intermediate. A young driver fee of EUR 7.00 per day (excl. VAT and local taxes) up to a maximum of EUR 70.00 (excl. VAT and local taxes) applies to all renters between the age of 21 and 24.
Cross Border Policy
All vehicles can be driven in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. A cross border fee of EUR 55.00 inc VAT per border will apply for these countries.
Mini, Economy and Compact vehicles only can also be driven in Serbia and Romania. Purchase of Collision Damage Waiver and theft protection is mandatory for these territories. A cross border fee of EUR 70.00 inc VAT per border will apply for travel to Serbia and/or Romania.
In all cases, customers must inform the rental branch of their intention to leave the country with the vehicle.
Outside of Hungary, the renter is responsible for the vehicle's compliance with local road laws, vehicle standards, compulsory equipment, and vehicle requirements. The customer is also responsible for paying any applicable toll or vignette when travelling abroad.
Unauthorized cross border travels will result in a breach of contract and incur a penalty charge based on individual assessment. A penalty fee of 3,500 EUR will apply for the unauthorized drop of the rental vehicle in a country that was not permitted for cross-border travel.
Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces the liability of the renter in the event of damage to the bodywork of the vehicle. If CDW is not included in the reservation, the renter has liability for the full market value for the vehicle. CDW is available for purchase if not included in the booking.
If included in the reservation, the excess amount ranges between 1200 EUR and 2500 depending on car class. Excess will be charged every time a vehicle is damaged.
Before purchasing CDW it is advised to determine, if a personal coverage is adequate to cover damage, theft, loss of revenue, administration fees, diminishment of value, and any towing, storage or impound fees. If CDW is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation through their carrier of personal coverage. CDW is not insurance. In cases of damage to the rental vehicle an additional handling fee surcharge of 37.80 EUR plus VAT and local taxes where applicable will apply.
Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Collision Damage Waiver does not cover: rims, wheel covers, windshield, tires, lights, crystals, interior damage, roof damage, undercarriage damage, theft of the vehicle or damages resulting from theft, damage from riots or civil unrest, damage from dangerous substances, damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or any failure to take all reasonable measures to look after the vehicle keys or any other device which unlocks the vehicle and/or enables the vehicle to be started.
Collision Damage Waiver will be voided if damage is caused by: failure to secure the vehicle keys, failure to lock the vehicle, unauthorized repairs on the vehicle, use by an unauthorized driver, use by an unlicensed driver, use for hire and reward, use of vehicle for any illegal purpose or deliberately causing injury or damage to property, racing, pace making, teaching someone to drive, use whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs, use of the vehicle outside of the country without our permission, overloaded with more passengers than seatbelts, towing, use off road, transporting dangerous or noxious substances, willful or wanton negligence.
Delivery and Collection
This location offers a collection and delivery service. Vehicles can be delivered and collected during the location’s normal opening hours. A charge from EUR 0.86 per kilometer applies (excluding VAT and local taxes) with a minimum fee of EUR 28.00 (excluding VAT and local taxes) per rental. To arrange a delivery or collection customers are required to contact the branch directly.
Debit Card Policy
All major debit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) issued in the name of the renter and present at the time of the pickup are accepted for purchases only and cannot be used for pre-authorization or the deposit. The debit card should be valid for at least 3 months. We do not accept prepaid cards (i.e. Visa Electron, Diners Club), travelers checks or cash. Currency loss shall always be borne by the customer.
One Way Drop Policy
All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. This one-way fee varies based on car category, location, and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, the desired route, and car category.
Exclusive Policy
ALL EXTRAS PAYABLE AT THE TIME OF RENTAL PICK-UP DO NOT INCLUDE VAT AND OR LOCAL AIRPORT TAX WHERE APPLICABLE AS WELL AS CONTRACT FEE OF 1 PERCENT FOR RENTALS ORIGINATING IN AUSTRIA WHEN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE RENTAL EXCEEDS 150 EUR. THE PURCHASE OF COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER - CDW - AND THEFT PROTECTION -TP - IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. RESPONSIBILITY WITHOUT CDW-TP PURCHASE IS THE FULL VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. ROAD TAX HIGHWAY FEE - FOR ALL BOOKINGS WITH A PICK-UP IN HUNGARY A DAILY SURCHARGE OF EUR 1.80 PLUS AN ADDITIONAL VAT AND AIRPORT SURCHARGE IF APPLICABLE APPLIES. THIS FEE IS TO BE PAID AT TIME OF PICK UP AT THE COUNTER. THIS FEE IS MANDATORY AS THE DRIVER OF THE CAR IS LIABLE TO PAY COSTS FOR THE USE OF THE MOTORWAY AND CAN BE FINED IF NOT ADHERED TO.
Refueling Service
All vehicles are delivered with full tank of fuel. As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1 - Prepay Fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.
Option 2 - We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay Enterprise at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices and an additional administration fee of EUR 14.99 (inc VAT) is applicable.
Option 3 - You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank to avoid extra fuel charges.
Loyalty Availability
Enterprise Plus customers can earn points on qualifying rentals and redeem points at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked online by the customer, in advance of their scheduled pick up date.
Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked in advance of their scheduled pick up date (either online or by phone).
Note: Emerald Club members can earn credits on National and Enterprise brand rentals, but can only redeem at National brand locations. A reservation must be booked in advance, and must have the member number attached in order to earn credit/points.
Miscellaneous Policy
In the case of any collision, damage, theft of the vehicle or keys, injury, or death occurring as a result of an accident, the renter is obliged to call the police regardless of the extent of the damage. If the renter does not contact the police within a reasonable timeframe, they accept full responsibility for the damages. The renter must complete an accident report form which is included within the documentation for the vehicle. The renter is also required to notify the lessor of any involvement in an accident, or any damage caused to other parties without delay, if contact with the lessor is not made within 24 hours, the renter becomes fully liable for the damage.
At the time of pick up/drop off of our vehicle, a Car Condition Report will be filled out and signed by the renter and the rental company employee. In the case that a Car Condition Report has not been signed by the customer at the time of drop off (eg. vehicle is returned out of opening hours or customer does not wait for the vehicle to be checked over) this will be interpreted as acceptance from the customer of the vehicle condition statement.
Forms of Payment
All major credit cards, issued by either Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Debit cards are accepted for purchases only and cannot be used for pre-authorization or security deposits. All cards presented must be in the renter's name and must be valid for at least 3 months from the date of pick-up. Prepaid cards (Visa Electron, Diners Club etc.), cash and checks are not accepted. A security deposit will be taken at the time of rental and must be left on a credit card. The minimum deposit covers the cost of the rental, the excess on the contract, a full tank of fuel and all taxes, with a minimum approval of 1000 EUR authorized. Two separate credit cards are required for the categories Full Size and above.
Roadside Protection
Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an optional emergency cover allowing the customer to waive financial responsibility for chargeable roadside incidents such as lockouts, flat battery, towing, and replacement vehicles. RAP does not cover flat tires, running out of fuel or key replacement costs. Roadside assistance is provided by a third party on behalf of Alamo/Enterprise/National.
RAP does not apply if there is a breach of the rental agreement or if a wrong fuel type is used. In such scenarios the renter pays a standard fee that covers all roadside assistance services. Before purchasing RAP, it is advised to determine if a personal coverage is adequate to cover these charges. If RAP is declined, the renter will be required to pay any applicable charges and seek compensation from the carrier of personal coverage. RAP is not insurance.
In cases of rental vehicle mechanical failure through no fault of the renter, Roadside Assistance will be provided at no cost to all renters. This service will include a tow and a replacement vehicle.
If the vehicle breaks down in the territory of Hungary, we shall endeavor to provide you with a replacement car within 8 hours.
If the vehicle breaks down outside Hungary, within a territory that has been authorized for travel by the renting branch, we shall endeavor to provide you with a replacement car within 36 hours.
If the vehicle is stolen in Hungary and through no fault of the renter (i.e., the renter can provide the registration document and vehicle key to the lessor), we shall provide you with a replacement car within 8 hours.
Roadside Protection Exclusions/Voids

Renter Requirements
All drivers must present a full valid driving license. All drivers must have held their license for at least one year. All renters must also provide a valid photo ID such as a passport or government issued photo ID. A valid credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle.
If the driving license is written in a language and characters different to those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation. Temporary driving licenses or certificates are not accepted.
Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed which may include an identity check with an external organization.
Arrival Directions
On arrival, please proceed to our rental counter located in the Terminal 2B arrivals hall near the tourist information centre. From here, the rental parking lot where your vehicle will be located is 600m from the terminal, around a 6-8 minute walk. If customers prefer, there is a free airport shuttle service to the rental carpark which runs every 15-20 minutes between 08:00 and 23:59 daily from outside the terminal building.
Alternatively, customers can choose our V.I.P. pick-up and drop-off service. On arrival, a member of staff will meet you with your rental vehicle at the exit of the terminal on the arrivals level. On return, you can drop the vehicle in the same place (conveniently situated 50m from the terminal entrance). This service can be booked by calling the Budapest Airport branch on +36 1770 7070. Your credit card details, and flight number are required to book this service. An additional fee of EUR 25 (include VAT) will apply. Please be aware that we require at least 2 business hour's notice to facilitate this amenity and are unable to give a refund for unused services.
Supplemental Liability Protection
All the vehicles in our fleet are insured against bodily injury and property damage that may be inflicted on a third party as a result of an accident involving the hire vehicle. The amounts for such liability cover are available on request. You must comply with all the rental company’s terms and conditions, exceptions and exclusions in order to receive the benefit of the insurance provisions.
Theft Protection
Theft Protection (TP) is a service which, if accepted or included in your reservation, reduces your financial liability for loss of/damage to all parts of the vehicle due to theft, attempted theft or vandalism. You must comply with all the rental company’s terms and conditions in order to receive the benefit of TP if selected.
If TP is declined, you will be responsible for the full market value of the vehicle in the event of loss of/damage to all parts of the vehicle due to theft, attempted theft or vandalism.
Regardless of Theft Protection being accepted or included, all rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess for which the renter is responsible in the event of damage to, or loss of the vehicle during the rental due to theft, attempted theft or vandalism. The amount of non-waivable charge varies from depending on car category. The minimum charge will equate to 10% of the vehicle purchase price.
If you choose to rely on your own personal coverage, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any cover provided by your chosen company before you decline our optional services.
Tire and Windshield Protection
Tyre and Windshield Protection (TWP) is an optional protection available to the renter. The purchase of TWP reduces the customer's liability to EUR 0 in cases of damage to the tyres and/or windscreen only. TWP does not cover damage to the rims or hubcaps of the rental vehicle. If TWP is not purchased, the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages to the tyres and windscreens. In case of damage to the rental vehicle, an additional handling fee surcharge of 37.80 EUR plus VAT and local taxes where applicable will apply.
